After underwhelming initial lineups for Coachella and Bonnaroo, other summer festivals are weighing in. A couple days ago Pitchfork Music Festival (July 18-20) joined the parade, and as far as I'm concerned it's more of the same.
Of the baker's dozen of announced acts, I'm interested in two. The rundown:
Fri: Public Enemy performing It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Sat: Animal Collective, !!!, Vampire Weekend, No Age, Dizzee Rascal, Atlas Sound, Fleet Foxes
Sun: Spiritualized, M. Ward, Boris, Extra Golden, El Guincho
Many more acts remain to be announced, of course. We'll see what happens, but at this point no festivals are among my summer travel plans.
