Band of Horses at Park Tavern, October 14
First I've heard of it, but apparently Band of Horses is playing at Atlanta's Park Tavern (10th & Monroe in Midtown) on October 14. Should be an intimate outdoor show, and that's hard to beat. They'll be on the road to support their forthcoming Cease to Begin, due October 9 from Sub Pop.
Band of Horses - Is There a Ghost? [from Cease to Begin]
Band of Horses - The Funeral [from Everything All the Time]
Band of Horses - The Great Salt Lake [from Everything All the Time]
The full tour slate, which begins in Atlanta, can be seen at Pitchfork.

Yes, a FREE concert, sponsored by 99X.
Should be real intimate.
Only their sincere fans will be there.

I've been to about a dozen of those free 99X events at Park Tavern and never felt crowded out, regardless of who was performing. FWIW. It's not like Band of Horses will draw thousands of people.
I don't intend "intimate" to mean "unattended." But it's a small stage in a small place. We're talking something with a capacity much smaller than Variety Playhouse (where they last played in ATL). Probably half the size or less.

Wasn't their last show at The Earl? That crowd was "suspect".

They played The EARL with Cary Ann Hearst and Arizona fairly recently, but have since played at the VP. I don't recall who else was on the bill, but BoH was the headliner. I believe it was an OK Productions show, maybe part of the Paste Fest if memory serves.

B of H played with label mate Chad Vangaalen at Variety Playhouse. It might have sold out. As I remember, the Earl show was after that one and sold out pretty quickly due to the size of the venue.

Do you know if the shows run late the Park Tavern or not. This show is on a school night.

No, they don't. I think they usually start 7ish, but can't recall for sure. Do check with the venue.
