RIP George Carlin, 1937-2008

As if Mondays aren't bad enough, I have to wake up to this....

Comic legend George Carlin has passed away at age 71. He'll be missed.

ooooooooh that's so horrible! it's so bizarre - we were watching cnn this morning and they were going on and on about his use of bad words but didn't mention anything about his death and we were like, what the hell are they going on about george carlin for?

sigh. i really loved him - especially in his random movie rolls like rufus in bill and ted and the cardinal in dogma. sniff.

I had the same experience. Caught the tail end of a segment on the "Seven Dirty Words" on CNN and wondered why it was on. They didn't follow up before going to flood coverage or whatever, so I let it go. THEN I got online. Ugh.

Yeah, this is horrible news. Seriously, we seem to be losing way too many good people in the last couple of months.

I read this great quote this morning from someone in regards to the man: "It was said that in the 70's, comedy was the new rock n roll. If that's true, Carlin was the fucking Beatles."

Let's all shout seven dirty words at the skies tonight.
