Albert Hammond Jr.'s '¿Cómo Te Llama?' in stores today

I'm admittedly not much of a Strokes fan. Their guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr., however, has proven himself to be a damn fine musician. Hammond's new album, ¿Cómo Te Llama?, hits stores today and I think it's more interesting than anything his other band ever released. Hammond experiments with pop and rock structures, and sounds more like recent Wilco flavor than any alternative rock band. You have to applaud the guy for trying something new, and for doing it well.

The video for the album's fourth track, "GfC," is available now, and it's a pretty good representation of the full record:

Shades of Tweedy, no? ¿Cómo Te Llama? is available now.

That first, solo album was a pleasant surprise. I loved The Strokes' first album, but then lost interest. I think Hammond was saving his best material for his own albums.
