Grand Palace Records unleashes new blog

Good news for those of us in the southeast -- the kickass Grand Palace Records in Murfreesboro, TN, has joined the blogosphere. I first posted about their store and space (and Ghostfinger) back in mid-February when they hosted a Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin/Catfish Haven show in their live room. Their new blog, Bucket City is Burning, highlights music releases and events in the Murfreesboro/Nashville area. They're off to a good start, featuring such acts as Silver Jews, Ponys, Liars, The O'Jays (!), and I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness. Check out their homepage as well.

They also have the exact same image of David Berman on their site that is currently my desktop wallpaper. Coincidence?

Grand Palace Records is also on MySpace. If you're in or near Nashville or Murfreesboro, I highly recommend checking out their shop and/or attending some of the shows they host. These are great guys with a great facility.

While we're at it, here's some audio by great Murfreesboro/Nashville-area acts:
Ghostfinger - Shine a Light
Lone Official - Central Avenue
Heypenny - Secreterror
The Clutters - Calling Her Name
Bad Friend - Lemonhead Loser (live)
The United Front - Silk Chocolate
Velcro Stars - Another Winter
The Mattoid - Shiny Woman
The Carter Administration - The REM Speedwagon
Hands Down Eugene - Denise
Glossary - Lonesome Stray
Oh No! Oh My! - Walk in the Park (well, 2/3 of them live in Nashville now...)
