Be still my heart

ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski, June 4, 2007: "The Chicago Cubs are the worst team in baseball. This is an indisputable, irrefutable fact, as obvious as the ivy on the outfield walls or the steel trough urinals in the Wrigley Field men's bathrooms."

Associated Press, August 1, 2007: "Matt Murton raced home on Brett Myers' bases-loaded wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth Wednesday night as the Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 and took over first place in the NL Central."

I knew there was a reason I wear that damn blue hat everywhere.

Matt Murton, by the way, is from McDonough, Georgia, and played college ball at Georgia Tech. Just to add a little local flavor...

Go Bravos! The most potent lineup in the NL right now.

Maybe we'll see you in the playoffs.

C'mon Rich, what's wrong with you, dude? Saying anything in print (even online print) = they'll be 2.5 games behind by next week! ;)

But I'll enjoy this while it lasts.

I'd take 2.5 games back. No matter what this feels a whole lot better than last year's nightmare.
