99X Mistletoe Jam 12/16 with Modest Mouse, The Shins
I feel compelled to post about this, even though the more I think about it the less I care.
On December 16, the 99X Mistletoe Jam will take place at Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, Georgia. The lineup will include Modest Mouse and The Shins (neat) as well as Silversun Pickups and Silverchair (meh). Tickets apparently went on sale yesterday via the Ticketmaster site.
I'll sit this one out and let the kids have their fun. It would take a lot to get me into an arena show these days, and there's no way I'm sitting through those first two bands. Still, Modest Mouse and The Shins is pretty nice.

Come on now... the Silversun Pickups are actually pretty good (IMHO). I saw them at the Unicorn and lost my glasses from all the dancing I did.
I haven't checked the price, but that's up where my folks live so it might be worth it.

Yep! Was on the covers EP a few years ago. Whole thing was on their site for free download until the revamp several months ago.

Three of my favorite bands, but Gwinnett? You've got to be kidding me. I agree w/ rich, I'll let the kiddies have their fun.

Compared to Philips, Gwinnett Arena is an opera house, acoustically. I swore off Mistletoe Jams after last year's awful sound at Philips. But I saw Snow Patrol, Ok Go and the Silversun Pickups at Gwinnett and it was a strong show, despite all the kiddies.
