Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation
Hat tip to The Day Jobs for the heads-up.
This weekend at Athens Cine, the theater will host screenings of Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation. It's a shot-by-shot remake of the original, created by a crew of Biloxi, Mississippi, teenagers in the 1980s. Production ran from 1982-1989.
The principals involved in the making of the film will be present at the screenings in Athens for Q&A sessions with the audience on October 5-7. That is this weekend, folks.
Their version of the film reportedly includes snakes, stunts, fire, legitimate costumes, and a giant paper mache boulder. Does that not sound awesome? Apparently the story of how this flick came to be has also been optioned for a movie of its own. I'm totally hoping they cast Michael Cera as Faux Indy.
