Bill Callahan to tour, come to Atlanta 2/25

A bit of welcome tour news, as Pitchfork is reporting that Bill Callahan is making his way to Dixie. You may know Callahan better for his output under the (Smog) moniker. He's a prominent lo-fi indie folk artist, and he'll be performing (surprisingly) at Atlanta's Red Light Café.

Smog - I Feel Like the Mother of the World
Bill Callahan - Sycamore

The tour:

2/16 Chelsea Café, Baton Rouge, LA
2/19 Club Downunder, Tallahassee, FL
2/20 Common Grounds, Gainesville, FL
2/22 Café Eleven, St. Augustine, FL
2/23 Village Tavern, Charleston, SC
2/25 Red Light Café, Atlanta, GA
2/26 Bottletree, Birmingham, AL
2/28 Hi-Tone, Memphis, TN
3/01 Jackpot, Lawrence, KS
3/04 Launch Pad, Albuquerque, NM
3/06 Rhythm Room, Phoenix, AZ
3/07 Plush, Tucson, AZ

Here's hoping this means that Red Light is booking more artists of interest in the future. I haven't been to that place in ages.

He actually played at Red Light in October 2006, too-- and with this insane, heavy-metal looking drummer. It's a tiny place but the crowd still seemed really small.
