A moment of self-awareness
Packing some things for my upcoming move, and just before I sealed this box I looked down and had a moment of extreme self-awareness.
Seriously, does everybody have at least three of these seven books?

Guilty as charged. It's funny, I am going through a house clean out right now and was looking at a very similar grouping of books.

Whew - just squeaked by on Dunces and the Hornbys...

Ha. I figured those and the Hunter Thompson would be the likely combo. Although Mysteries of Pittsburgh is probably in a lot of personal libraries...

Wow. 6 out of 7 between myself and the wife. Jeez.

3 of seven exactly :)

Me too: High Fidelity, Fear and Loathing, and A Confederacy of Dunces. May the long-rumored film of the latter never reach the silver screen.

we've got five of them. :)

only two but i almost bought a long way down a month ago...

Haha, you got me with the Nick Hornby books. And good old Bukowski.

Five - Chabon, Toole, both Hornbys and Thompson (never got around the reading the latter).
To Anon -- don't bother with A Long Way Down. Worst book I've read from Hornby, by a long shot.

5 of 7. All but "Fear and Loathing" and "A Long Way Down." I actually seem to even have the same editions of 3 of these books. Have you been in my house? I feel stalked.

Hey Rich, what'd you think of Long Way Down? I never did get around to reading it, and I've heard from many sources that I'm not missing much.
11:38 AM
Wouldn't argue with that.
