Be sure to check out "Whimsical Actress" if nothing else. Beck describes it as a "flight of whimsy," and that's an apt description. It's pretty ridiculous, and a rare treat.
Funny how "MTV Makes Me Wanna Smoke Crack" is more relevant today than ever.

Crikey! Thank you SO MUCH for posting these. This is another one of those weird instances of the Internet bringing my life back to me in weird bits and pieces.
I actually used to have this very same performance on a cassette tape in college (circa late 1993-early 1994). My girlfriend at the time and I used to listen to it constantly. We, along with several of our friends, had become pretty much obsessed with Beck and we found this performance on KCRW particularly endearing. (We also loved to make fun of the radio host's "California hipster" manner of speaking.)
Well, long story short, said girlfriend and I broke up in the spring of 1994 and, even though I begged her afterward to make me a copy of the tape, she never did and I never heard it again. Now here it is...
Perhaps the weirdest part of all of this is I went to college in DeKalb, Illinois, so I have no idea how a cassette tape of a radio show on KCRW ended up in our possession.
Anyway, thanks again. This is going in my collection for all eternity.

I have '94, but not '95. Anybody care to send it my way? I'll try to get '94 up next week. Right now I'm buckling down and getting some needed dissertation and job-related stuff done. I'm in for a pretty overwhelming 5 or 6 days.
